Deep Neck Lift in Philadelphia, PA

Located in Glen Mills, Media and Chester, Providence Facial Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery offers deep neck lift surgery to the residents of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the surrounding areas desiring facial plastic surgery.

What is a Deep Neck Lift?

A deep neck lift is a surgical procedure that targets the deeper structures of the neck to provide a more comprehensive improvement in the appearance of the neck and jawline when compared to a traditional neck lift. A regular neck lift usually addresses only the skin and underlying muscles of the neck, while a deep neck lift will address deeper tissues and muscle. Additionally, a deep neck lift can remove excess fat and further sculpt the neck to satisfy the treatment goals of patients with higher degrees of skin laxity.

Deep Neck Lift in Philadelphia, PA

What are the Benefits of a Deep Neck Lift?

The benefits of a deep neck lift include:

  • Provides a more comprehensive improvement in the neck and jawline
  • Targets the deeper structures of the neck, including the muscle and tissue layers
  • Can remove excess fat and tissue in the neck
  • Creates long lasting results
  • Can be combined with other procedures for a more complete facial rejuvenation

How Do I Choose Between a Deep Neck Lift and a Traditional Neck Lift?

The decision to have a standard neck lift or a deep neck lift depends on several factors, including the degree of aging or laxity in your neck and jawline, your aesthetic goals, and your overall health. If you have moderate to severe sagging or excess skin, deep neck lift may be the better option for you. This procedure targets the deeper tissues and muscles of the neck and jawline, providing a more comprehensive and dramatic improvement in the appearance of the neck. However, if you have mild to moderate sagging or excess skin, a standard neck lift may be sufficient.

The best way to find out if a neck lift will be suitable for you is to call for a personalized complimentary consultation, during which our facial plastic surgeon can answer all of your questions. At your initial complimentary consultation, we can also discuss the differences between a neck lift and deep neck lift to help you determine which is right for you.

What Can I Expect at My Complimentary Neck Lift Consultation?

No two necks age in the same way. As a result, no two deep neck lifts will be identical. During your complimentary deep neck lift consultation, Dr. Ginsburg will examine your neck and listen to your specific concerns with regards to the sagging or excess fat that has occurred. With your goals in mind, Dr. Ginsburg will then create a plan to sculpt and lift the neck, bringing his many years of experience to produce a treatment plan that will produce the best possible results. If appropriate, your neck lift may be combined with other procedures to give you the comprehensive look improvement you desire. Ultimately, when you leave your consultation, you will be equipped with realistic expectations for your deep neck lift results, and a treatment plan that you can set into motion whenever you are ready.

How is a Deep Neck Lift Performed?

A deep neck lift is performed on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation. To begin treatment, Dr. Ginsburg will make incisions in inconspicuous locations, such as behind the ears or under the chin, to access the underlying neck tissues. Once Dr. Ginsburg has gained access to the neck tissues, he will then tighten the neck muscles by removing excess tissue or suturing them together to create a firmer, more defined neck contour. Dr. Ginsburg may also use liposuction to remove excess fat deposits in the neck area. In some cases, excess skin and tissue, particularly in the jowl area, may also be removed to improve the overall appearance of the neck. After the necessary adjustments have been made, Dr. Ginsburg will carefully close the incisions and a compression garment may be applied to reduce swelling and promote healing.

How Much Does a Deep Neck Lift Cost?

The cost of a deep neck lift can vary depending on your treatment goals and the surgical techniques involved, as well as whether you choose to combine your procedure with any other treatments. At Providence Facial Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery, we price each procedure individually. This allows us to more accurately represent the costs based on your body’s unique needs. We are happy to discuss your costs and financing options at your initial complimentary consultation. You may also view our financing page for further details.

What Can I Expect from My Deep Neck Lift Recovery?

Recovery from a deep neck lift can vary from person to person, but generally, patients can expect some bruising, swelling, and discomfort in the first few days following the procedure. Dr. Ginsburg will provide specific instructions on how to care for the surgical site and manage any pain or discomfort, which may include pain medication and/or antibiotics.

It’s important to keep the head elevated and avoid any strenuous activities or movements that may strain the neck muscles for the first few weeks after the surgery. Patients may also need to wear a compression garment to help reduce swelling and promote healing. Most patients are able to return to work and resume normal activities within a week or two after the procedure. However, it may take several weeks for the swelling to completely subside and for the full results of the procedure to be visible.

Scarring is a normal part of any surgical procedure, but Dr. Ginsburg will take care to minimize visible scarring by placing incisions in inconspicuous locations. Over time, any scars that do appear will typically fade and become less noticeable.

When Can I Return to My Normal Exercise Routine?

Many patients never realize how integral neck movement and strength is to their daily routine until having a deep neck lift. In order to ensure the best results, it is essential to take the time to rest and allow your surgery site to heal. We recommend waiting at least three weeks before incorporating any light exercise back into your day. You may begin to slowly increase your intensity around the 3 week mark.

Rest assured, Dr. Ginsburg will discuss the details of your recovery process with you well before your procedure. This will allow you to ask any questions in advance, so that you can be the most comfortable with what to expect. Additionally, your follow-up appointments will provide time for you to check in with your healing and receive any additional recommendations.
